Georgian Pillars : We took a several day trip to Barnesville, Ohio and stayed at a Bed and Breakfast, the Georgian Pillars, the Owner Operator Janet Thompson, was a delightful individual whom made are stay most enjoyable, the town has many antique and speciality shops all within walking distance of the Georgian Pillars. It was also the beginning of the annual Pumpkin Festival in Barnesville which attracts over 100,000 yearly. The Georgian Pillars is a 1900 Georgian Revival Home, with lavish oak woodwork and stained glass windows, that has been lovingly decorated in the teal and mauve hues of the Victorian era. This monumental structure of buttered brick with curved Ionic porches was built for R. Ross Watt, President of Watt Mining Car Wheel Company. This bed and breakfast has been in operation since 1991. Hostess Janet Thompson is proud of how many guests she's welcomed back to Georgian Pillars during that time and invites you to visit when you're in the area. The Georgian Pillars is just 1/2 block from the Barnesville Antique Mall, 1 mile from Barnesville Hospital and the Quaker Olney Friends School, 22 miles from St. Clairsville, and 30 miles from Oglebay Park in Wheeling, West Virginia. There is also a golf course just 8 miles away.

Country Cottages & Gardens I 2008 : My wife and I recently spent several days at Country Cottages and Gardens, located in the Atwood Lake Region of Ohio. Your not going to see in this album photos of us swimming, fishing, or hiking, having a great time which of course we did, what you will see is this album are photos showing you Country Cottages & Gardens. Even though there are photo's on the Country Cottages and Gardens web site (www.zcottage.com) I felt that additional photos would be helpful to others planning a stay here. It's a great place to get away and just take it easy and if Webster ever came up with a definition for "A Little Heaven on Earth" Country Cottages and Gardens would be included in it.

Country Cottages & Gardens II 2008 : My wife and I made our second trip to Country Cottages and Gardens, located in the Atwood Lake Region of Ohio. As in the first album your not going to see us swimming, fishing, or hiking, having a great time which of course we did, what you will see is this album are additional photos showing you Country Cottages & Gardens. This time we stayed in the Contemporary Cottage and took additional photos of that cottage. We also had the pleasure of meeting up with Carolene Zamudio, the Proprietor & Welcome for a grand tour of the Main House , which is used for Weddings, Family Reunions, Parties, etc. It's just beautiful as you'll see in the photos. Punderson State Park, Ohio : We vacationed at Punderson State park, located in Geauga County, Ohio. Your not going to see in this album photos of us swimming, fishing, or hiking having a great time, which if your wondering we did, what you will see is an album of photos showing you Punderson State Park. Even though there some photo's on the parks web site I felt that additional photos would be helpful to others planning a stay here. I apologize to the campers out there I did not get any shots of the camping area, they have some 200 sites with total hook up at some. Next time I promise. It's a great place to get away and just take it easy.

Lake Chautauqua NY 9/08 : We went to Lake Chautauqua to do some fishing, our first time for this lake, stayed at Irwin Bay Cottages & Vacation Rentals. Irwin Bay Cottages web site. http://irwinbaycottages.com/ Owner operator Julie Ward Holland, greeted us upon arrival and showed us around, the cottage we stayed in # 9 was clean and well kept. (We did have the opportunity to visit a week earlier on an afternoon prior to this arrival also, Julie was most accommodating at that time as well and showed us not only the cottage we were getting but also the two homes available on the property for rental, both homes were clean and well kept also.) Well as I said we came to catch fish, unfortunately Mother Nature and the fish had different plans in our quest to do just that, we had numerous fronts come through with rain and hail at one time during the majority of the week we stayed, making catching fish very tough for us, we only use lures, and soft plastics. Other fisherman staying at the camp used live bait and had much better luck than us catching some fine Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Perch, and even a couple of Muskie. So you'll see no fish photos in these shots, (we did catch fish just not the size or quantity we would of liked to and released all) also with all the inclement weather we had our camera spend most of its time in the cabin keeping dry. The photos in this album will show the cottage, and various areas of the lake taken on the few days we took it out. From all we have heard Lake Chautauqua, is a good fish producing lake and we have no reason to believe it isn't after seeing the fish others caught and brought in using fishing methods other than ours. And as for Irwin Bay Cottages and Vacation Rentals it's a great place to stay and I don't know if you'll fined a better customer oriented Owner Operator on Lake Chautauqua than Julie Ward Holland.
